Blue Jay Aviation
Our Story
How we became the exclusive home for Israeli commercial pilots.
Founded by pilots Naomi Schayek and Maor Meir Cohen
Why We Built This
Blue Jay Aviation was born out of necessity. Being a pilot is a challenging journey in every sense, and often a lonely one. Finding real, honest guidance feels nearly impossible. Finding people who speak your language becomes its own mission. And one place that brings together everything a pilot needs? That barely existed. Together, we built it.
In November 2023, Blue Jay Aviation officially launched. Starting with a handpicked circle of trusted pilots, the community grew into a structured, mentor-led network that now spans 300+ members across the full career spectrum, from cadets to seasoned captains, examiners, and the professionals who drive Israeli aviation.
The vision has never changed: give Israeli pilots the professional ecosystem they deserve.
Since launch, every Tuesday something happens: live webinar, professional discussion, expert guest, new article, or exclusive benefit. Hundreds of internal events since 2023.
Through the community, pilots have landed jobs. Members set Tuesday alarms so they don't miss a thing.
When I set out to become a pilot, I quickly realized how complex and overwhelming the process could be. There wasn't a clear path, and finding the right information felt like a challenge in itself. That's why we built Blue Jay Aviation: not just a place to ask questions, but a system where knowledge is built, preserved, reviewed, and continuously updated. So you are always one step ahead. The more accessible the pilot profession becomes, the more we can all focus on what truly matters.

Maor Meir Cohen
First Officer A320, based in Romania
Like many of you, I've been passionate about aviation for as long as I can remember. When I set out to become a pilot, I quickly realized how complex and overwhelming the process could be: visas, finances, training options, relocation. There wasn't a clear path, and finding the right information felt like a challenge in itself.
Together with Naomi Schayek who originated the vision, we built this community. Today, I lead Blue Jay Aviation alongside the team and mentors.
